Lincoln, Vietnam, Korean, and WWII: War Commemorations

  • Learn how materials and design converge to tell a story at the Lincoln Memorial
  • Experience the complex simplicity of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
  • See how we honor American veterans of the Korean War
  • Touch bas-relief panels that form a storyboard of World War II America

This tour will focus on each memorial as a unique interpretation of large scale violent conflict and loss; and at the Lincoln Memorial, we'll touch on how it has been used outside of the realm of memorialization; for protest, public gathering, and ceremony.

The tour starts here (5 Lincoln Memorial Circle SW; adjacent to the Bikeshare station).
